30.05.2024 : Iedere 3e zondag van de maand gaat een groep bewoners op stap om zwerfvuil op te ruimen in de wijk, met andere woorden: rotzooi die anderen gewoon op straat of in het groen gooien. Één sigarettenpeuk kan tot 1.000 liter grondwater vervuilen met zware metalen, nicotine en microplastics. De filters vallen uiteen in schadelijke stoffen. Deze stoffen komen uiteindelijk in ons (drink)water terecht. Niet zo gezond dus voor plant, dier en de mens.
Gooi sigarettenpeuken aub bij het restafval en niet op straat of in de putjes.

Every 3rd Sunday of the month, a group of residents goes out to pick up litter in the neighborhood, in other words: rubbish that others simply throw on the street or in the greenery. We notice that we pick up a huge number of cigarette filters, usually between the curb and parked cars.
One cigarette butt can pollute up to 1,000 liters of groundwater with heavy metals, nicotine and microplastics. The filters break down into harmful substances. These substances ultimately end up in our (drinking) water. Not so healthy for plants, animals and humans.
Please throw cigarette butts in the regular trash and not on the street or in the drains.
