Thuisbatterij - interessant? / Home battery - interesting?

15.06.2025 : Als je zonnepanelen hebt bestaat de verleiding om een thuisbatterij aan te schaffen. Met zo'n apparaat gebruik je meer van je zelfopgewekte stroom doordat stroomoverschot vanaf de zonnepanelen wordt bewaard voor momenten dat verbruik groter is dan de zonnestroomproductie (bijvoorbeeld 's avonds en 's nachts).

Aanschaf van een thuisbatterij is geen sinecure. Zo'n ding moet naadloos passen bij jouw zonnestroominstallatie en bij jouw (ook toekomstige) verbruik. Vergeet ronkende reclame door cowboys. Sla brutale lieden af die aanbellen om je ter plaatse een thuisbatterij te verkopen. Wees alert voor zwendelaars. Zoek een erkende installateur die je helpt met het uitpuzzelen van het passende fabrikaat, batterijmaterialen, capaciteit, opstellingsplek en, indien nodig, aanpassing van de meterkast.

Niet rendabel: Op dit moment is een thuisbatterij niet economisch rendabel, alle reclame ten spijt. Dat verandert als in 2027 de salderingsregel voor aan het net teruggeleverde zonnestroom verdwijnt. Dan pas wordt met name voor huishoudens met een warmtepomp of een elektrische auto een thuisbatterij écht interessant.

Home battery - interesting?
If you have solar panels, there is a temptation to purchase a home battery. With such a device, you use more of your self-generated power because surplus power from the solar panels is stored for times when consumption is greater than solar power production (for example in the evening and at night).

Purchasing a home battery is no easy task. Such a thing must fit seamlessly with your solar power installation and with your (also future) consumption. Forget bombastic advertising by cowboys. Reject rude people who ring your doorbell to sell you a home battery on the spot. Be alert for fraudsters. Find a certified installer who can help you figure out the right brand, battery materials, capacity, installation location and, if necessary, adjustment of the meter cupboard.

Not profitable: At the moment, a home battery is not economically profitable, despite all the advertising. That will change when the netting rule for solar power fed back into the grid disappears in 2027. Only then will a home battery become really interesting, especially for households with a heat pump or an electric car.
