14.10.2025 : COV Excelsior Leiderdorp geeft op 1 november een concert onder de titel: “Meesters van Vernieuwing”.
English follows the Dutch text In dit concert staan drie componisten centraal. Alle drie hebben bijgedragen aan de vernieuwing van muziek in hun tijd. Jenkins staat bekend om zijn mix van klassieke en wereldmuziek, Finkers om zijn humoristische en vaak satirische benadering van muziek, en Mozart om zijn baanbrekende werken in de klassieke muziek.
Op het programma staan: Het Requiem van Mozart; The Sacred Songs van Jenkins en de Sint Jorismis van Herman Finkers.

Hun werken hebben allemaal een eigen karakter. Daarbij worden Mozarts composities nog steeds wereldwijd uitgevoerd en bewonderd. Jenkins als hedendaagse componist schrijft voor koren uitdagende muziek. The sacred songs zijn uit verschillende composities zoals "The Armed Man" en het "Requiem". Ze zijn door Jenkins zelf thematisch bij elkaar gevoegd. Finkers' muziek en cabaretvoorstellingen zijn geliefd in Nederland. In de Jorismis herken je het lichte karakter van het cabaret. Met onverwachte wendingen in de muziek verrast hij het koor en de luisteraar. Deze muziek toont aan dat ongeacht de tijd of stijl muziek een krachtig middel kan zijn om mensen te inspireren en te verbinden.

COV Excelsior Leiderdorp present "Masters of Innovation."
This concert focuses on three composers. All three contributed to the innovation of music in their time. Jenkins is known for his blend of classical and world music, Finkers for his humorous and often satirical approach to music, and Mozart for his groundbreaking works in classical music.
