11.09.2025 : Na eerder succes in de Kaasmarktschool met voorstelling Wezen, is het collectief terug in Leiden met een nieuwe voorstelling. Mijn zus, te paard speelt op woensdagavond 17 september in Park Matilo.
English follows the Dutch text De voorstelling is een wandeling door de oude Romeinse nederzetting, in dialoog met de plek. De voorstelling is een verhaal in harmonie, hoketus, uitgestrekte punten en puntige vertes. Onderweg klinkt er nog niet eerder uitgevoerde muziek en tekst, uitgevoerd door een bezetting bestaande uit viool, altviool, cello, klarinet, saxofoon, trombone, basgitaar, stem en auditieve toevalligheden. De voorstelling is gratis toegankelijk.

Collectief Wezen maakt locatiespecifieke voorstellingen in ruimtes die iets niet meer zijn. Collectief Wezen is ontstaan op het Utrechts conservatorium en werkt vanuit compositie, improvisatie, verbeelding en nieuwsgierigheid, in een samenspel tussen mens, keramiek en ruimte. Het collectief wil haar publiek en zichzelf uitnodigen om te luisteren, stil te staan bij wat er om ons heen en in onszelf gebeurt, om zich daar vervolgens met zachtheid toe te kunnen verhouden.

Collectief Wezen bestaat uit Vos Arends, Nikki Kloosterboer, Thomas du Gardijn, Margot Roubos, Lucas Kloosterboer, Mia Kogelman, Martín Alvarez, Francisca Snip en Madelief Lammers.

Aanmelden (niet vereist, wel handig) kan via collectiefwezen@gmail.com. Aanvang 20:00. Verzamelen om 19:30 bij de brug aan de noordoostkant van het park (zie afbeelding). We wandelen niet langer dan een uur.

My sister, on horseback in Park Matilo
After earlier success at the Kaasmarktschool with their performance "Wezen," the collective is back in Leiden with a new show. "My Sister, on Horseback" will be performed on Wednesday evening, September 17th, at Park Matilo.

The performance is a walk through the ancient Roman settlement, in dialogue with the place. It tells a story of harmony, hockets, expansive points, and jagged distances. Along the way, never-before-performed music and text will be heard, performed by a group consisting of violin, viola, cello, clarinet, saxophone, trombone, bass guitar, voice, and auditory coincidences. Admission to the performance is free.

Collectief Wezen creates site-specific performances in spaces that no longer exist. Collectief Wezen originated at the Utrecht Conservatory and works from composition, improvisation, imagination, and curiosity, in an interplay between people, ceramics, and space. The collective invites its audience and itself to listen, to reflect on what is happening around us and within ourselves, and then to relate to it with gentleness.

Registration (not required, but helpful) is available via collectiefwezen@gmail.com. The walk starts at 8:00 PM. Meet at 7:30 PM at the bridge on the northeast side of the park (see image). The walk will be no longer than an hour.
