06.06.2025 : Van 13-15 juni zijn weer de Nationale Archeologiedagen! Daarom organiseert Stichting Mooi Matilo samen met het Rijksmuseum van Oudheden een bijzondere fietstocht op zondag 15 juni.
English follows the Dutch text Fiets met de ervaren stadsgidsen Sijbrand of Willem van het museum naar Park Matilo, of andersom, en ontdek de lange geschiedenis van Leiden en het Romeinse fort Matilo. De tocht start in het Rijksmuseum van Oudheden, met een rondleiding langs de mooiste Romeinse vondsten uit Leiden, gevolgd door een fietstocht naar Park Matilo. Na een rondleiding door het fort kun je uitpuffen met een drankje bij bezoekerscentrum De Fabrica. Je kunt ook starten in Park Matilo, dan gaat de tocht andersom.

Wanneer: 15 juni van 14.00 tot 16.00
Kosten: € 8 p.p., contant te betalen aan de gids (incl. drankje bij de Fabrica, excl. museumentree)

Cycling tour through Roman Leiden
The National Archaeology Days will be held from 13 to 15 June! That is why Stichting Mooi Matilo, together with the National Museum of Antiquities, is organising a special cycling tour on Sunday 15 June. Cycle with experienced city guides Sijbrand or Willem from the museum to Park Matilo, or the other way around, and discover the long history of Leiden and the Roman fort Matilo. The tour starts at the National Museum of Antiquities, with a tour of the most beautiful Roman finds from Leiden, followed by a cycling tour to Park Matilo. After a tour of the fort, you can relax with a drink at the De Fabrica visitor centre. You can also start at Park Matilo, in which case the tour will go the other way around.

When: June 15 from 14.00 to 16.00
Costs: €8 p.p., payable in cash to the guide (incl. drink at the Fabrica, excl. museum entrance)
